Herbert Spencer wrote many works in different fields, i.e. psychology, biology, sociology, ethics and metaphysics. This paper focuses on his views about pedagogy and his influence on pedagogy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, especially on his influence on the opinion about the relationship between parents and children. The reason for defining of the topic and concentrating on this part of his work is down to the fact that his influence on the fields of evolutionary psychology, metaphysics and biology was previously researched.
