The workshop was organised within the Erasmus+ project GEDIS – Gender Diversity in Information Science: Challenges in Higher Education, which brings together universities and partners from across Europe to support the integration of gender perspectives into information science education, research, and professional practice.
Throughout the two-day programme, participants engaged in lectures, practical activities and discussions addressing gender and intersectional perspectives in information science, hate speech, open educational resources (OER), and inclusive metadata.
The workshops and training sessions were delivered by Ana Villarroya Planas, Maddalena Fedele and Juan-José Boté Vericad from the University of Barcelona, Michaela Dombrovská from Silesian University in Opava and Džejla Khattab from the University of Sarajevo.
The programme combined theoretical presentations, practical activities and group work, providing participants with opportunities to exchange experiences and reflect on ways of integrating gender perspectives into library and information services. Particular attention was given to the role of librarians in creating more inclusive information environments and developing competencies relevant to contemporary library practice.
We would like to thank all participants, speakers, partners and students whose contributions helped ensure the successful implementation of this activity.
